DIVORCED, YET LIVING TOGETHER STILL? HMMM

Before logging into my emails every day, I like to check and read the news. I don’t know call me crazy, but in today’s economic situation, I believe that it’s very important and beneficial to know where the trend chart is pointing toward: the blue skies or the murky waters below. One of the news that I loved in particular were about President Obama going forward with the stimulus plan. He is attempting to spend billions to…… Are you ready for this?…… Help the economy get out of the deficit. Wow, what a concept! I wonder how our previous leaders managed to overlook this minuscule possibility and take possible measures to prevent the situation that we are in today. But I guess, what’s past is past and IT SHOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE, AND BURIED! Let’s move forward and support our leader TODAY to do what he is set out to do: help us and help this country.

Speaking of moving forward, has anyone heard about yet another recent news revelation about divorced couples living together?! WHAT!? (Laughs). I cannot believe what I read (and saw on Yahoo News). Call me naïve, but I thought that people who end up divorced, usually, uhh, don’t get along; argue a lot; cheat on one another; spend each others money! Upss, wait a minute. Let’s think about this for a second: today’s crisis + reduced amount of spending power = no money to spend! Wow, karma is a five letter word that rhymes with itch.

But, forget everything I said and everything that you know about why people get married and up divorcing within a certain period of time (or in matter of hours like Ms. Britney Spears and Mr. J. Alexander). My real question and dilemma is this: why would you still live with that person, knowing that one or both people involved (tragically, in some situation there are even children involved) have been hurt significantly and have deep emotional scar that needs time to heal? In my opinion, to heal from heartache, the only solution is to move on and find a fresh beginning. How can you heal when the constant reminder of irreversible emotional trauma has now become an everyday reminder; living with you under the same roof; eating at the same kitchen table; parking in the same drive-way? This is weird even writing about it, yet alone actually living under these conditions. I guess, according to one particular Chicago-land couple, this is their only choice during these downward-spiraling economic times. Not only are they not able to sell their home, their salaries have taken a plunge as well. One of them is actually started dating, but they are putting up with each other in the most civil matter for the sake of the children and all of their futures considered. I guess you do what you must to survive - and today, like never before we all have to go back to the basic human instinct, which is SURVIVAL, and survival of the fittest at its best.

In conclusion, I would just like to say one thing: Stay true to yourself and do what you must for the survival of your family and your own being.

What and When Is Earth Day

What and When Is Earth Day?

By John McConnell, Founder of Earth Day

When I first conceived of Earth Day, a global holiday to celebrate the wonder of life on our planet, I thought long and hard about the day on which it should fall. It must be meaningful. One that might be accepted universally for all of humankind.

When the Vernal Equinox dawned on me, I immediately knew it was right. The Earth tremor that shook our California dwelling at that moment seemed an omen of confirmation. What could be more appropriate than the first moment of Spring, when day and night are equal around the world and hearts and minds can join together with thoughts of harmony and Earth's rejuvenation. Just as a single prayer can be siginificant, how much more so when hundreds, thousands, millions of people throughout the world join in peaceful thoughts and prayers to nurture neighbor and nature.

And so it came to pass we initiated the celebration of Earth Day on March 21, 1970. The first Proclamation of Earth Day was by San Francisco, the City of Saint Francis, patron saint of ecology. Designating the First Day of Spring, March 21, 1970 to be Earth Day, this day of nature's equipoise was later sanctioned in a Proclamation signed by Secretary General U Thant at the United Nations where it is observed each year. Earth Day was firmly established for all time on a sound basis as an annual event to deepen reverence and care for life on our planet.

While other dates have been called Earth Day it is obvious that a singular Earth Day is needed and that the original choice of nature's day is best. More attention for this fact will increase the influence of Earth Day and its benefits.

Every effort to encourage Earth care is to be commended. But just as more than one birthday each year for an individual would diminish the real birthday, calling other dates Earth Day detracts from the authentic day -- which can provide a more meaningful focus and obtain more unity in our diversity. The nature of the March equinox provides a reason for an event at the same time all over the world.

Other events leading up to or following could be called Earth Festivals, or given other names. Then events can complement each other and increase awareness and care for our planet and its people. In the midst of this will be Earth Day, where the United Nations Peace Bell rings at the moment Spring begins and hearts and minds join all over the world.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR YOURSELF LATELY?

Being a mom, wife, and a business owner, you can say that my life is pretty hectic. But I wouldn’t change it for the world. Yes, it’s a full-time job, with a lot of overtime involved from the moment you wake up to the moment you lay your tired body down for a quick nap. Then, get up in the morning and do it all over again. Every day is the glimpse of what the next will be like, get up; change the baby, make breakfast; clean the house; do laundry; put the kid down for a nap; make lunch/dinner, set the table; do the dishes ….. I am tired just from writing it out, but how come I have the strength to do it all everyday, and still manage to wake up with a smile on my face and go about my day loving what I do? I think that this is the power of being a mom, in love with your significant other, and ultimately loving life. So if this wasn’t enough, I have started a business, that I am proud of and which adds a lot to my busy schedule. In order to do it well, I tend to think of as my little baby. It needs nurturing, my time and devoted attention in order to grow and become successful.

However, sometimes I feel a lot of guilt when I have thoughts of doing things that are just for me, and me only. Like going to spa for example. Have someone else cater to my needs and not worry about the everyday chores and duties of who I have become. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t wish to run away from my daily routine-filled life, I would just like a place where I can recharge my batteries and pull myself together for a busy day ahead of me. So here is my suggestion. If you life resembles mine in the slightest form, this is what I recommend you do. First, pat yourself on the back for job well done (you know that waiting for someone else to compliment you could be awhile). Second, take a moment to think about yourself and what it is that you need to fill your tank back up to full: could it be going to the gym; going to the spa (make an appointment today); go out with your girlfriends for lunch/cup of coffee; or just simply make yourself a bath and lock the doors for an hour. Third, take a moment to make a schedule (anything will do) for doing chores, spending quality time with your family, working from home, etc. I find this to be very helpful in my life, even though there are many times that I have to improvise.

We that said, I would just like say that in my opinion, life is like a baseball coach, who likes to give you challenges, harsh practices in order to make you better and prepare you for the big leagues. Even though, there is a curve ball from time to time, if you try and try again, you will hit a home run and all of the hard work will pay off.

“Stay true to yourself, to those that you love, and all good things will follow.”

Real Estate Agents: Start Promoting Yourself Now!!!

Spring is right around the corner and it’s time for my follow real estate agents and brokers to get their name out there. Why? Yes the market is horrible, and many agents and brokers are leaving the industry for other careers that have a steady income. Agents that do not have referrals are failing. My heart goes out to these people, but at the same time it’s not entirely the markets fault. Agents that do not promote there self will fail. Branding yourself will set you apart from your competition. Did you know that it takes up to five times for a piece of marketing material to get you noticed? On an average order for our agents it cost them $200.00-$300.00 for a mailing. One sale will offset this!! Say you don’t get anything from your first mailing. Say you mail out calendars. Your sphere will in fact keep calendars or magnets. Say you get no calls. Well then you start walking your sphere meeting people around the neighborhood. They are all going to notice you. Why? Because your face and contact number is on their refrigerator. There not looking to buy or sell right now, but they do know someone who is. The whole purpose of this is to stay in there face. Make sure they have a way to contact you when your service is needed, and this will help your business grow. Good luck

In today’s world of competitive economy, based all around the world, possibilities for businesses are endless. The same is true in the world of promotional products. However, with competition, a lot of companies lose the sight of what is really important and what is the only essential factor for every business out there. We are talking about our customers. KNOWING YOUR FABRICS

A fiber is a filament either natural or manufactured, which is twisted into yarns, and then used in the production of a fabric. Denier measures the weight of a continuous filament. The lower the weight, the finer the fiber is.

COTTON VS. POLYESTER

“Which is better, cotton or polyester?” They both have their advantages. Cotton, is natural fiber, and in today’s world of eco-friendly craze, it’s particularly popular, especially for products that are labeled organic. It breathes very well, retains color admirably and feels good on the skin. However, for those who are interested in wearing different types of uniforms, say that they would choose polyester over cotton. The reasons for that are based on its ability to last long, maintain its original color better than cotton, and it keeps the shape through many regular wears and tears. In addition to that, polyester doesn’t stretch or shrink. For those of you out there who prefer both, or really don’t have a preference, choose a blend. When you combine cotton and polyester, the result is a soft hand with long-lasting color, easy care and breathability. This is probably something to think about next time you purchase your choice of clothing.

ECO-CARBON AND COCONA?

Are you familiar with these terms or is it just Greek to you? Recently I have done my homework on fabrics and realized the meaning of both words. Both words are used to describe eco-friendly fabrics that are genetically altered by embedding activated carbon (came from coconut shells) into fiber and yarns. As a result, the benefits of these fabrics is odor-elimination as well as moisture control. When this material is combined with polyester, the end result will look and feel like 100% polyester. This allows it to be silk-screened or sublimated with beautiful results. On the other hand, because this fabric has carbon in it, will have a slight grey tinge, which can affect the brightness of the overall imprint.

Everlasting Promotions prides itself on knowing the facts about the products that we sell, and we like to share them with our customers. We also like to say that “we sell solutions, not products.” This allows us to gain our clients trust in us, our company and our products as well. This is what we mean by excellent customer service and staying ahead of our competition.
You can't go around being what everyone wants you to be, living your life through other people's rules, and expect to be happy and have inner peace.

I live my life in my own way.

Each experience in your life was absolutely necessary in order to have gotten you to the next place, and the next, up until this very moment.

I truly treasure all of the experiences I’ve had in my life.

Despair is the feeding ground for darkness. It robs us of all hope. When there is no hope, there is no light, and the soul gives up. Remember that we are what we think, so optimism dispels despair, and things immediately begin to look up.

Your guardian angels want you to know how much they love you right now. Your angels’ love is completely unconditional and all-encompassing. “We’re right here. We have never left you and can never leave you.” Your guardian angels say that you deserve their help and attention. There is nothing that you could have ever thought, said, or done that could ostracize you from your Divine helpers. They never judge or abandon you for the mistakes you make. The angels are simply here to support you so that you can spiritually grow and help others.

Whatever is happening out there is only a mirror of my own limited thinking.

I trust the intelligence within me.
